FAQ
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse, search, save and track jobs as a guest. An account keeps your saved and applied jobs across devices, lets you build a profile, and is needed for auto-apply.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Profile → Account → Delete account and confirm. Your account, profile answers, saved and applied jobs, auto-apply history and résumé are deleted permanently.
I forgot my password
On the log-in screen tap Forgot password?, enter your email, and we’ll send a 6-digit code to set a new one. If the email never arrives, check your spam folder, then email us from the address on your account.
How is the match percentage worked out?
Each job’s title, skills and description are checked for the technologies on your stack. The more of them a job mentions, and the more prominently, the higher the score. Open a job to see exactly which ones matched and where. Change your stack and your matches update.
How does auto-apply choose jobs?
It takes the best-matching recent jobs whose application forms it can fill, one per company, skipping anything you already applied to. You don’t pick the jobs, but each one it applies to appears on the Apply tab and in My Jobs with a picture of the sent form. If a form can’t be completed (for example it needs a code emailed to you), that job is skipped and the next one is tried.
When does a paid plan start applying?
Straight after the purchase goes through: the first batch starts within a few minutes, and a new batch follows about once a day for as long as the plan is active. There’s nothing to press. The Apply tab shows your plan, how many jobs were applied to, and the latest ones.
How do I cancel my plan?
Plans are App Store subscriptions, so you cancel them with Apple: on your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose CareerHawk and tap Cancel. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Do I have to upload a résumé?
Not to browse. Auto-apply needs one, because employers ask for it. If you tick the AI box when uploading, your details are suggested for you; otherwise you type them in.
How do I track a job I applied to myself?
Open the job and tap “Mark as applied”. It appears under My Jobs → Applied, where you can set a status and add notes.
Jobs aren’t updating
New listings arrive every few hours. Pull down on the Jobs tab to refresh. If it still looks stuck, email us.
